Director of Development

Rebecca is responsible for raising funds to support RC’s operations & programs and for putting on our big annual events, Tacoma Pride and the Black & White Gayla.

Rebecca hails from prairies of the Midwest, most recently Normal, Illinois. Her undergraduate work at Illinois State University focused on feminist moral and political philosophy and epistemology. She jumped from the ivory tower into the field, spending her formative professional years working with folks who had experienced intimate partner violence, and then on issues of housing affordability and justice with Habitat for Humanity. Her master’s work focused on sustainability in the built environment and led her into the world of higher education administration and adult education. Rebecca is a passionate library supporter/user, public radio geek, and Mama to two grown-ish kids. She enjoys cooking, architecture and design, working for social justice, exploring the world on foot and by bicycle with her lovely wife, and petting all the dogs (and cats).
