June 10, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Mending Your Dress: Coping with Trauma Through Writing

Presentations on sharing, oversharing, and not sharing. This presentation will offer insights on the formidable task of writing about deeply personal and vulnerable topics; such as physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, as well as the balance between sharing and oversharing.
Facilitated by Tacoma’s own NeelyBat Chestnut of Mend My Dress Press!
About NeelyBat:
” I am a zine maker, photographer, and book publisher. My work focuses on survivors, lesbian/queer narratives and healing. I’ve been writing my personal zine, Mend My Dress since 2005 and taught workshops on zine making and writing to heal from trauma. With Mend My Dress Press I publish and distribute works by other artists of different marginalized identities. I believe in the healing powers of shared experiences and solidarity. I look forward to sharing my art, creative process and knowledge with you. ”

The RC is a wheelchair-accessible space with all-gender, single-stall restrooms. Call or email us if you have any questions about accommodations or accessibility: 253-383-2318 or [email protected]
