Message from Executive Director, Aimee Welch

Greetings and welcome to the Rainbow Center!  We are glad you have stopped by our website and hope that you find exactly what you are looking for.  If not, please give a call or send an email with your question.  Either myself, Center Manager, Andre Cuesta or one of our charming volunteers will be happy to get back to you at our earliest convenience.

Message from Board President, Willie Painter

Welcome to the Rainbow Center, your one-stop resource for everything  LGBTQA in Tacoma-Pierce County! Tacoma-Pierce County has many LGBT organizations, serving a wide array of interests.

Our work is all about you! We believe people are happiest when they find a community they identify with, have access to whatever their timely needs might be, and generally have a place they can call home. Please consider the Rainbow Center your home; come in with specific questions, or just come in to hang out, play pool, or read a book from our library.

In addition to providing meeting space for other LGBT organizations, such as Gender Alliance of the South Sound, Imperial Sovereign Court of Tacoma, Queer Collective, and others, the Rainbow Center also hosts regular events like our movie nights and karaoke nights. We also host special events like our recently well-attended “financial planning for domestic partners” seminar.

If you haven’t had an opportunity to attend Tacoma-Pierce County’s premier LGBT bash, I cannot emphasize enough the awesomeness of our annual Black and White Gayla. You haven’t been to a party with friendlier people, I can assure you! How does a room full of over 300 happy, fun-loving LGBTQAs sound? Come to our Gayla to find out, and meet some truly quality people! Mark your calendars for November 7th. Buy your ticket early.

Please contact any staff or board member at anytime. We’re committed to you and the Tacoma-Pierce County community
